The Future of Farming combines in a unique way a visual computer-based and data-driven game with the qualities of a role-play. It is now nominated as a finalist to the EU CAP Communication Award.

The game Future of Farming is developed by The Danish Ecological Council in cooperation with the scientists of Copenhagen and Aarhus University, the game developer Sune Palsgaard, Postwork, and educational consultant Henrik Tuxen, Rungsted Gymnasium, Denmark.

The Future of Farming – a combined computer and role playing game developed by the Danish Ecological Council is finalist of EU´s “2014 CAP Communication Award” in the category Innovative Communication.

The Future of Farming – a combined computer and role playing game –  is one of three finalists of EU´s “2014 CAP Communication Award” in the category Innovative Communication.

The Future of Farming has now been selected by an independent jury among 146 projects as one of three finalist of EU´s  “2014 CAP Communication Award” in the category Innovative Communication. The award is given for the most creative and innovative communication of issues related to the common agricultural policy (CAP) in EU.

‘This communication project shows high potential in the use of technology to
help people envision the future of farming. It gives a clearly defined target
audience an active role and represents a very innovative way to engage them.’

The Future of Farming is targeting students at high schools and agricultural schools and has been developed by The Danish Ecological Council i cooperation with scientists from Copenhagen and Aarhus University in Denmark.

The finalists will be showcased during an awards ceremony on 29 January 2015 in Brussels. Communication officer Ulla Skovsbøl, game developer Sune Palsgaard and educational consultant Henrik Tuxen will represent The Danish Ecological Council at the ceremony.

Spillet Fremtidens Landbrug er blevet nomineret til EU’s pris for bedste formidlingsindsats om landbrugspolitik, ”The 2014 CAP Communication Award”.

Spillet Fremtidens Landbrug er blevet nomineret til EU’s pris for bedste formidlingsindsats om landbrugspolitik, ”The 2014 CAP Communication Award”.

Spillet Fremtidens Landbrug er et kombineret computer- og rollespil, som er udviklet i et samarbejde mellem Det Økologiske Råd og landbrugsforskere ved Københavns og Aarhus Universitet. Det er nu med i slutrunden om at vinde “The 2014 CAP Commuication Award, som  bliver uddelt af EU´s generaldirektorat for landbrug og landdistrikstudvikling.

Formålet med prisen er at udbrede kendskabet til de mest nytænkede måder at formidle viden om den fælles landbrugspolitik (CAP) på i hele EU. Konkurrencen bliver afgjort den 29.1.15, hvor første, anden og tredjeprisen uddeles ved en ceremoni i Bruxelles.

Spillet Fremtidens Landbrug er en del af et større projekt, hvor medarbejdere i Det Økologiske Råd udvikler bæredygtige fremtidsscenarier for dansk landbrug sammen med forskere fra Institut for Agroøkologi ved AU Foulum og Institut for Fødevare- og Ressourceøkonomi ved KU.

Journalist Ulla Skovsbøl er projektansvarlig for spillet. Spiludvikler Sune Palsgaard, Postwork, har stået for den tekniske spiludvikling, og cand. mag. Henrik Tuxen, Rungsted Gymnasium,  har været pædagogisk konsulent.

Spillet er finansieret af Veluxfonden.
